What was the most rebellious thing you did while you were a devout jw?
by DuvanMuvan ini was just thinking about how humans being imperfect and satan's influence was the root of everything bad that anyone has ever done.
well i know that apparently everyone is vulnerable which got me thinking about what "bad" things people have done while they were a jw.
i'll start it off.

Petty Gambling

the elders do well not to involve themselves in what individuals do with regard to petty gambling solely for entertainment.
they may need to give counsel if this becomes a cause of stumbling for others or affects the spirituality of the individual or the congregation.-w02 11/1 p. 31.. .

I have an honest question!
by FL_Panthers init's with regards to disfellowshipping.. is disfellowshipping a legal procedure?
like is there something i can use to prevent this from happening to me if it does happen.. no jokes about me being a bad little boy.
i need honest answers to this.

The congregation has to be kept clean. A known child molester/abuser can remain, and be protected. Cognitive Dissonance! The WT org is a cult. The confusion about whether they are a religion which God approves can be cleared away by reflecting on the fact that children are abused sexually and every other way by horrendous cruel jerks who are tolerated and protected by the WT rules and personnel.

ask a jw why they don't celebrate holidays and they'll tell you it's because of some nefarious pagan connection.
but this is really just a cover.

Hello, I am new
by LillyC ini am not a jehovah's witness but i am very interested, i have many questions and hope they can be answered here.. i do believe in god, privately.
i do say my prayers daily and do believe god helps me in countless ways.
but i don't go to any church.. i have always been impressed at how smart, polite and nice jehovah's witnesses are and i always make time to speak to them when they call at my door.

Hello Lilly! You are so wise to do research on Jehovah's Witnesses before committing to anything! I wish I had your smarts back when I was young. What I did was swallow everything told to me without thinking twice, to my great sorrow and my family's.

Head covering for women--how did you feel about this? Men? Women?
by humbled inthinking about how this felt awkward to some of us women when a bible student noticed something was "up" if a baptised brother sat in on a study.

When we were first studying, this topic came up and had to be explained to me several times before I could BELIEVE my ears. The brother (an elder) was telling me it was my turn to pray a closing prayer, after the study one day. I thought it was so ridiculous, I went and pulled out an old canvas dogflap cold weather hat and stuck it on my head and announced I was now wearing my subjectionatin' hat.
For years people would ask me if I still had my subjectionatin' hat.

I did it !!!!
by snare&racket in7 years ago i started on a path i had long ago given up on as impossible.
i met with my elders and told them i could not justify carrying on as a jw.
i went and got my high school qualifications and my higher education diploma (a levels with distinction) in just 12 months.

Talked to JW's in Service Today (kinda long...sorry)
by exwhyzee ini was in my company vehicle and i spotted some jw's going from door to door.. i circled around the block and pulled over.
when they passed, i rolled down the .
window and asked the pleasant looking middle aged couple as they passed, if they were jehovah's .
